about Irene

In Works on Paper, I explore landscape as well as the human figure.

My interest is in drawing with paint as in watercolor sketches that provide a quick impression of a landscape, and portraits that render the subject’s mood by means of color and brushwork.  In the print medium, I continue to focus on the figure and both urban and natural landscape, and recently have been working in solar etching. My sculpture is predominantly figural and includes soapstone, alabaster, limestone, marble, basalt, and wood.

My work has been juried into the Frances N. Roddy Open Competition at Concord Art, and both Member and National Prize Shows at the Cambridge Art Association.  I have also exhibited with the New England Sculptors Association, and at galleries in the Boston Area.   My work is in private collections in New England, New York, Canada and Great Britain.
